Frisco Cares Clinic Expands Hours to Serve Adults
21-Mar-2010 Thursday, August 27, the Frisco Cares Children’s Clinic, at 6811 Oak Street in Frisco, will be offering quality health care services to adults. The clinic will open its doors for patient registration at 5:00 p.m. and Dr. Mitra Canales, American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) certified specialist, will begin seeing patients at 6:00 p.m.Uninsured adults from Frisco and surrounding areas will be seen for an office visit fee of $10. Prescriptions, if necessary, may be provided free of charge.
Dr. Canales is a graduate of, and completed her residency at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center, training at the University Hospital and VA Hospital in San Antonio. She practices at several hospitals in the area, including Centennial Medical Center, Presbyterian Hospital of Plano and Medical Center of Plano, and opened an office in Frisco in 2007. Dr. Canales also sees patients at some of the nursing homes in the area. She speaks English, Spanish and Farsi.
The Frisco Cares Children’s Clinic is open on Wednesday evenings for pediatric patients, from birth to age 18, and has been offering quality health care to uninsured children in Frisco and surrounding communities since 2005.
Staffed by volunteers and medical professionals, the mission of the clinic is to provide low cost quality health care to children in our community. The Clinic draws its support from the community through corporate and individual contributions, public and private foundation support, funding provided by local governmental resources and community supported fundraising events.
