2009 Mayoral Proclamation – Paul H. Reyes, MD, FAAP

21-Mar-2010 Paul H. Reyes, M.D. is the Medical Director for the Frisco Cares Clinic. A tireless volunteer and dedicated pediatrician, Dr. Reyes has committed countless hours of service to our community through his work with the Clinic.

In 2004, the Leadership Frisco program’s Class # 8 spoke to Dr. Reyes about their plans to open a clinic for uninsured children in our community. He agreed to take on the role of Medical Director, and helped set up and open the Clinic. With his guidance, clinic policies and procedures were developed, and adherence to federal, state and local regulations have been ensured. Dr. Reyes oversees the purchase of vaccines and immunizations used in the Clinic. He has also been instrumental in helping to develop strong relationships with other health care facilities and providers in our community.

When the Frisco Cares Clinic opened its doors in April of 2005, Dr. Reyes was the Medical Director and first (and only) volunteer physician work in the clinic. Since that time, he has continued to volunteer regularly and is integral to the continued operations of this valuable service organization in our community. He is an active and highly visible proponent of the Clinic, participating in all of its community events, meeting with the public, and spreading awareness of the Clinic and its services.

Dr. Reyes has helped lead the Clinic from its modest beginnings – first in a mobile clinic van, then in borrowed space in the Primera Iglesia Bautista in Frisco – to its current location at 6811 Oak Street, in Frisco. He continues to be an active volunteer physician, Medical Director and Board of Directors member for the clinic.

Since opening, the Frisco Cares Clinic has provided acute medical care and immunizations for over 1,000 uninsured children. Recently the clinic expanded its hours of operation and is now offering care to uninsured adults.
